Cole Phillips

Cole Phillips

Cole Phillips comes from Bridge Creek, Oklahoma, and many of his songs are laden with references to his upbringing in Bridge Creek.

His entire album No Town, Oklahoma is a reflection of what living in Oklahoma is like. Lyrically, it makes it relatable. Musically, it all comes together.

After some viral streams, it didn’t take long for record labels to come looking for Cole. One record label called the  gas station in town (because there was only one) to get ahold of Cole to strike up a deal. It was obvious even to Nashville record reps that Cole Phillips represents something fresh in country music.

There’s a range of music you’ll get with Cole Phillips, all proudly country though, of course. Songs like “Drinking Alone,” are instrumentally stripped down, but it pairs perfectly with the incredibly raw and descriptive pain that’s the revealed in the lyrics. This combo was a chef’s kiss, as reflected in the number of streams this song continues to receive.

If you haven’t listened to Cole Phillips before, you’ll enjoy the variety of style and production. Start with tracks like “Drinking Alone,” “Good Guy,” “West Tx”, “Magnolias in May” (or, just scroll down to hear “Broken Spanish”) and you’ll see how well he turns personal moments into memorable melodies.
